Dr. Melinda Wells, O.D. has been practicing optometry for nearly 36 years. She started her Lake Forest practice over 32 years ago.
Dr. Wells received her Bachelor's of Science in Biology at the University of California, Riverside in 1984. She then received a Bachelor's of Science in Visual Science, Cum Laude in 1986 and her Doctorate of Optometry in 1988 at the Southern California College of Optometry in Fullerton. Dr. Wells worked with an ophthalmologist, Dr. Bradley Greider, M.D., of Vista for over 12 years. She routinely handles pre and post-operative care with various ophthalmologists, retinal specialists and glaucoma specialists in the surrounding area. Dr. Wells currently specializes in difficult-to-fit contact lens patients. She realizes that especially with specialty contact lenses, it takes time to achieve patient goals with respect to both vision and comfort. Dr. Wells is well trained in the fitting of contact lenses for both keratoconus and corneal graft patients. She has national certification in both the management and treatment of ocular disease, and glaucoma. |
For the last 32 years, Dr. Wells has worked closely in the management and care of LASIK patients with Tom Tooma, M.D. of Newport Beach. Dr. Tooma is a nationwide known specialist in LASIK and has performed over 120,000 LASIK procedures. Dr. Tooma is also currently involved in several trials with the FDA relating to the latest innovations in ophthalmology. The specialists that Dr. Wells works closely with are experts in all of the new advances in intraocular implants used in cataract surgery including the new LAL ( light adjustable lens implants) and the variable focus intraocular lenses that may let you get rid of your eyeglasses permanently.
Dr. Wells has been a member of the American Optometric Association and the California Optometric Association for the past 29 years.

Gena Ghoslin, ABO
Gena is a board certified optician and our office administrator. Gena was raised in Las Vegas, Nevada. She moved to California twelve years ago and was married in November 2013. Her educational background was in pre-nursing in Nevada before re-locating to California. She received her American Board of Opticianry certification in August of 2012. Gena is also a gifted musician and plays the piano and keyboard. She is currently learning guitar and fluently speaks mandarin Chinese. She professes to be a coupon queen and loves to travel (most recently to Australia).
Gena has been an outstanding addition to our office. Her friendly, knowledgeable personality is sure to make you feel assured that you are getting both the service and quality you desire in an eye care assistant!

Danny Espitia
Danny is an ever-present force in Dr. Wells office. He is in charge of our on-site lab and deals with all facets of lens edging, frame repair and adjustments. Danny maintains our edging equipment in top form. Due to his expertise, we can edge lenses in your existing frames while you wait. Danny was raised in Santa Ana, California. He still resides there. Danny worked with Lenscrafters in their edging lab for over eleven years. If you need a repair, Danny can fix it or no one else can!
Danny loves great food and friends. He is an avid boxing fan and his hobbies include trying new eateries and working out at the gym. Many of our patients have become spoiled knowing that if their frames need an adjustment or repair, Danny gets the job done! He is a true asset to Dr. Wells and her office!
